Privacy policy

Vault 76 Builds is an independent project maintained by players. It is not an official product of Bethesda Softworks, ZeniMax Media or Microsoft, and has no official affiliation with Fallout 76.

When you create an account we ask for a username, an email address and a password. The password is hashed with scrypt and is never stored in plain text.

When you publish content (builds) we store that content along with your username and the publication date.

If you decide to report another user's content, we store the report and the related administrative messages so the team can manage it.

Account data is used solely to identify you on the site, allow you to sign in and protect your account. Your email address is never displayed publicly and is never shared with third parties.

Any content you publish is visible to every visitor of the site and may be indexed by search engines. You can edit or delete it from your account at any time.

We use a single technical cookie that is strictly required to keep your session alive. It does not contain personally identifiable information, expires after a long inactivity period, and is not used for advertising.

To measure aggregated site usage we use Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool with no tracking cookies or advertising profiles. Umami records visits, page views, referrers, and anonymized technical data (browser, country, device). It respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control when your browser sends them.

While your account stays active we keep the data associated with it. If you request account deletion from the Account center, the account is deactivated immediately (you cannot sign in and your profile and builds stop being public). Personally identifiable data is permanently removed from the database after 30 days, unless an administrator reactivates the account within that window.

We may keep backups for an additional period of up to 90 days for technical reasons, after which those backups are also deleted.

You can access your information, correct it, download a copy of your data and request deletion of your account from the Account center. Deactivation is immediate from your side; permanent deletion is completed within the periods described above.

If we make material changes to this policy we will display a clear notice on the site and, if the change affects previously granted rights, we will email registered users. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
